More House

More House Impression 1 More House Impression 2 Architect's impression of More House

Girls will benefit from having their own residence More House. The House has been named after Dame Gertrude More, a 17th century English Benedictine nun famed for her learning, humour and faith, as well as being the great-granddaughter of Sir Thomas More.

This self-contained new girls' house will be furbished to a high standard, with study bedrooms for all sixth form boarders and study rooms for day pupils, all with network access. There will be a comfortable and spacious common room, a reading / computer room, kitchenettes and a laundry facility. The House will also include accommodation for a resident Housemistress and her family. She will be assisted by a deputy, a team of tutors, a Chaplain and a matron. This team will provide the girls with the support, care and welfare they need, whilst also making themselves available to parents when required.

Like the boys' Houses, More House will have a strong, friendly and family atmosphere. The girls will feel a sense of belonging and they will enjoy living in a community founded on mutual respect and co-operation.

Further extensions are planned for the future.
